Why would anyone want to do it that way though? Seems like so much extra work?

i pulled the engine through the bottom, only took me a couple of hours, its easy as hell as long as you have lift. disconect the drive shaft, the fornt brake lines, pull the wiring harness from the inside of the car, unbolt the six bolts that hold the k member, and lift the car right off the engine and transmission.

the car is built that way. thats also the "correct" way to remove the engine from the car. yes it can be done the other way out the top. but if you know what your doing and have the ability to drop it out the bottom id suggest that way.

4 hours total time to having the motor in front of the car, torn down to a long block without any accessories on it. Seems faster to me.
