Short 3/8 rachet, 3/4socket to go over the end of your sparkplug socket and the best tool of all a 2-3" peace of 3/8 hose that you push over the end of the new plug. Makes it alot easier to install the new plug

Just changed mine this morning! Took me a little over 2 hours. Yea number 8 was a BITCH, had to tackle that one from underneath as well. I read the write up from I believe install university and it helped out a lot!!! Not to mention having all the right tools helps out a lot too.

Did you take all the coil packs of the passenger side?

ok guys i need help, i am trying to change my plugs today because my car is missing, and i got stuck. I couldnt get the last bolt off of the passenger side coil pack. The one in the very back that is underneath the wiper cowl. There is a big black hose that runs into the firewall that is it my way. Whats in the hose? Can i undo it and move it out of the way? Thanks

probably your heater hose, and if it is you may end up losing/spilling some coolant, but other than that you really dont have to worry about messing it up by removing a heater hose. I AM NOT possitive that it is your heater hose with out seeing a pic of it so you need to be sure of it. It could also be an ac line which would have an aluminum style fitting and not just a clamp.

Well i couldnt get that last bolt off of the coil pack rail, so i just said screw it, and i got number 8 from underneath the car. But what really pisses me off is that none of them were fouled!

Well some how i found it easier to so from underneath, but if you have big arms, dont even try. I have skinny arms and mine barely fit.

I couldnt ever get that last bolt off. There was a damn heater hose in the way. If the 10mm didnt have to be a deepwell, i could have got it.

My local Chevy dealer quoted me $650 for new plugs and wires today.

Saying I'm stunned would be an understatement!

That doesnt sound right, i went and got a quote for my corvette, which i know is easier, but the same motor, and they wanted something like $250. But its not really that bad, I had help in my corvette and it took me 2 hours to change one side, and my buddy the same to do the other side. Then about a wek ago i changed them on my camaro by my self, and took i total of about 3 hours. I just worked on it a hour at a time for 3 days to keep me from getting discouraged.
