Default How can I disable the passenger airbag?

I need to put my son in the front seat but need the airbag off, how can I do it? I don't wanna remove the bag itself, just disable it for now. I don't care if the driver side works or not either, for that matter. Can I pull a fuse or unplug something?

This is on a 2002 camaro BTW.

Thanks!

Answered it yourself. Pull the fuse and reinstall when ready.

Search is your friend on this one guys

In summary, remove the fuse when you want it off, put it in when on.

And what wires do I need to cut to shut off the air bag light on the dash? I know its the brown B1 wire for the passenger side, what is it for the driver side?

I would recommend living with the light on the dash. . .don't cut/modify anything! Just my opinion if you're wanting the airbag off. . .

Do a search my friend. I typed directly from my service manual for my 2000 z28. Just be very careful.

Thats good advice. Shorting out the airbag could make it deploy. They are very dangerous because they come out at over 200 mph. Plus they will ruin the interior of your car.

If you really can't live with the light, why not just remove the bulb? Much easier and safer than cutting wires.
