If you add the seafoam to the brake booster vac line then you don't have to change your oil, when you add it to the oil then you have to.

Yup, change the oil. Since for it to work really good you'll have to get quite a bit in there, chances are some of it is going to get past your rings into the crankcase. Just to be on the safe side change the oil. Also for best results swap the plugs while you're at it.

I just changed the plugs in my Ranger and did not get a chance to use this stuff. Any opinions on using Seafoam AFTER you have already changed your plugs?

I have used sea foam quite a few times on different cars. If you put it in the oil, change it right away it breaks the oil down. I have not changed the oil on cars after doing an IV drip thru the brake booster line with sea foam. I think it would be deffinately necessary if you just poor it in though the booster line while trying to keep it running. All in all it's cheap insurance to do the oil change. I have not had as much success with the composite intake cars. Aluminum intake cars will smoke like a mother after you rev it up. I have not done a sea foam drip on my TA because i changed my plugs and have seen my intake and heads and carbon build up was not so bad. Sea foam rocks in my opinion and deffinately restores horse power but i have not seen as much improvement when i ran it thru my tahoe and would guess the same result would happen with an LS1. I barely got any smoke.

ok wouldnt you think if seafoam got past the rigns wouldnt gas too. i dont see why people say change your oil. its like saying to start your engine maybe your spark plug will spark and light your oil on fire.

Seafoam is a motor treatment that cleans dirty engine parts internally by removing harmful gums, varnish and carbon.(directly from can).

one quick question about seafoam without hijacking:
it says on can: "Fill diesel fuel filters with seafoam to clean injectors fast"

would that work on gasoline fuel filters?

I guess if it would they would have mentioned it. I WOULD NOT do it.

i just got a reply from seafoam(quick response) about that. here is their reply:

"Sir, diesel engines will run on Sea Foam, gasoline engines will not without at least an equal amount of gasoline mixed in it. It is not advisable to clean a gasoline engine thru the fuel filter like a diesel engine.

We suggest you put one ounce of Sea Foam Motor Treatment per gallon into your fuel tank and DRIVE YOUR FUEL SYSTEM CLEAN!

You should notice a difference within 30 miles of driving!"

good thing i try it... would take forever to get it to fire with a fuel filter full of it...

I just put a 16oz. can in the car last time I filled up. Nothing noticable as far as I can tell, but I guess it can't hurt.
