tapping/ clicking noise when cold

tapping/ clicking noise when cold my car makes a clicking/tapping noise when cold really loud, but when it warms up it goes away but not all the way it goes right along with rpm i rev up it taps with rpm. I think it something with rocker or valve. any ideas appreciated. i wanna spray the car but this issue is holding me back.
Most likely it's your air pump and nothing to worry about. If there is still some ticking after it warms up, that's not unusual either. These engines are known for that (do a search on piston slap). Drive it.
my EVAP selinoid ticks on cold start ups, its right next to the drivers side fuel rail. but once my car warms up the tick is gone, annoyed me at first but now that i got long tubes and offroad Y with the cutout cant even hear it lol.
I've got the same thing happening on cold starts with me lately. Seems like it started right when the weather got cold and I switched to the 5W-30 oil. Goes away after a minute or so of driving. I've got no clue what it could be. Anything from a lifter getting hung up a bit, to a tensioner pulley, to a small exhaust leak. I'm gonna see what happens when things warm up and I go back to 10W-30 in the spring, but I'm not losing any sleep over it at this point in time.
Nokeman - Just out of curiosity did you re-check your plugs and wires to make sure they are tight?? After I changed mine I developed a similar problem a few weeks later.....I was all set to pull the valve covers off until I checked the #8 plug and saw it was a bit loose.....problem solved.

Verdad Gallardo zeequick...it might actually be that. i went back to school w/o my car shortly after changing plugs and i havent gotten a chance to get back in there to check em.im hopin thats all it is. could not having the right viscosity oil make ur car tick like that?

Sounds like its your sparkplug or plugs may be loose. Metal contracts when its cold so when you start the car you will hear the ticking or tapping sound. When the car heats up the metal expands and the ticking/tapping goes away or is not as loud. Start by checking the plugs and the wires. Hopefully thats all it is.
