Default Rotella 5W40 synthetic?

Anyone ever used this? I can't find any more 5W40 M1 around here. I alwasys used Rotella in my Cummins when I had my truck, but never in anything else so far. It can't be too bad, and like $14 a gallon.

on a side not, I was reading in Hot Rods latest issue discussing various oils for engines running Flat Tappet lifters and cams. The labled rotella as an ideal engine oil for such High Performance Gas powered engines so that goes against it jus being for diesels, it was based on the additives within the oil.

dont know if that helps you or not but....

As soon as GM solves my oil consumption through the PCV when running 5W30 and 10W30, I'll start running it again.

Most diesel guys run Rotella, but I don't think it's just for diesels. If you consider how hard most diesels work, it'd probably do pretty good in a passenger car.

I ran it in my LT1 and I loved it. My car had to many miles on it though and it started to find leaks all over. I think I gained 2.5 mpg when I ran it over the one summer.
