A full year and 600 posts later and you're still mentoring the troops here. Good for you dude. I sub'ed to this thread last year; still get e-mails and was curious to see if you were still helping people out.

My cats failed inspection last week so since I'll be replacing them on Friday, I think I'm going to Seafoam the motor. I just hope this thread doesn't overload my poor little laptop's memory when I start reading your instructions!

Seafoamed the car a month or so ago. Even though I put in too much into the brake booster a few times (causing it to stall), and my dad starting it up and revving it like a madman (even though I told him several times not to) it smoked ok. After the first or second early stall and restart a giant cloud of smoke came out! When I went to WOT from a roll for the first part of the "spirited drive" the acceleration difference suprised me! It idles much smoother now and about 150RPMs lower (barely noticable). Throttle response seems to have improved, too.
I want to Seafoam the car again (minus the oil part) as soon as possible to see if its condition improves any more.

P.S. If you want something done right, never let somebody else do it. The video above is proof. (Dad in the drivers seat.)
P.S.S. That lifted SUV in the background is a V8 '72 Intl. Scout with "new" 35" Procomps. PM me if you want to buy it.

I Seafoamed the car a couple weeks ago, Ive had it for about 2mths and it has 80,000 mi. on it. I did all three steps, let it sit 20 min. then started it and it didn't really smoke. I let it idle for about 20 min. then took it for a ride, at WOT it puffed out a little cloud but not a lot. I added it to the VAC line really slow could that be the reason it didn't smoke that much? Or maybe it just wasn't dirty? Still seems to idle a little bit rough, but seemed like it ran a little better at WOT. Thanks for the write up, it really helped out!

I put a can in the tank a few days ago with the tank about half full. I don't notice any difference yet but it was running fine anyhow. I'd lost about 1mpg (combined) starting about 6 months ago and thought it might help get it back. It has close to 31K so I'll probably do the other stuff soon.

Is the method the same on a Z06? I imagine it would be the exact same, but just making sure. And it would be ok to just do the top end cleaner, right?

It should be ok to do, but if you have an oil leak do not do the oil treatment because it may cause your oil leak to get worse. There's plenty of info buried in this thread.

I got exactly 230 miles to the tank after seafoaming the car.

Felt damn good going over 200, I usually hovered around 170
