I seafoamed the top end today, followed the instructions, dumped the last third (of the 8 remaining ounces) in the vacuum line and stalled it out.

Now the car won't restart at all. I've tried several times, let it sit for a while and retried. Its not even attempting to turn over. Its almost like its not getting any spark to the engine - would seafoam mess up the plugs?

Default HydroLock

If a solution is introduced in sufficient quantity, there is a possibility that the engine will not be able to vaporize it before the ignition fires, thus resulting in bent rods. Be careful with this method of treatment.

The last 3 times I've seafomed, I've used the whole bottle through the pcv valve inlet in the intake. Slowly poured 2/3 the can and kept the throttle going, then stalled it out with the rest. Always gave it about a half hour and came back no problems starting, just some sputtering once . . . just gave it gas till it could hold its own idle.

Maybe pull a few drivers side spark plugs and take a look?

You should take out all 8 spark plugs, pull the fuel pump fuse anmd turn the car over for about 10 seconds. Then leave the plugs out for an hour, put them back and it should start up.

Sea Foam can only be good for the plugs, never heard of them getting damaged from Sea Foam.

thanks a million, worked exactly like you said - except for the cop car pulling in behind me as I left my driveway billowing smoke He didn't pull me over though.

There's no way just one Sea Foam treatment can do it all. I've done 3 full cans through my top end, all within a 2 week period. And the 3rd one still smoked alot.

10 minutes ago I just did a full can of the Mopar Combustion Chamber Treatment, its sitting right now. I'll let you know in about an hour what came out. But it started to smoke quite a bit while I was spraying it in towards the end of the can. Its reall foamy stuff, so I'm convinced it has filled the entire intake and covered every inch, unlike the Sea Foam Deep Creep spray can do. I shut the engine off while I still had about 3 seconds pf spray left in the can and the 2 foot long clear line I used to spray it into the intake with was full of it. So I know the top end is just full of this foam. No need to take the brake booster line off, much easier and faster.

Buy a 2 foot long hose that will fit the intake vaccum port near the throttle body. In the pics I have it connected to the PCV valve just to see if oil was being sucked through, and DAMN, it was......I need to get a ctach can immediately. Its hard to see the oil in the pics, but its there. Take it off the PCV valve and thats the end you spray it into. It sucks hard from that end so the spray goes into the hose great, you don't lose a drop.

If it works like a champ I'll start a new thread about it.

Well, it probably smoked about the same amount as the 3rd time I did the Sea Foam. So for it to get more smoke out after 3 times of Sea Foam I'd say its far surperior than Sea Foam.

I drove it for about 20 minutes after and it was still smoking when I got back home.

IV meaning what they use in the hospitals. Fill the bag with seafoam and tap it into the PCV line. hanging it from the hood and let it drain

Well, you can also do what I did in the pics above. Get a hose like that and a funnel, then slowly pour it in till the whole can is gone. It'll suck it right in nicely.
