Thumbs down WTF is this rattle....!!!!!

So today when I was taking my daughter to the Dr I get in and start the car and I hear this really loud annoying rattle... so I rev the car and it seems to go away... either that or the magnaflow is louder than it is. well I get home and its still there. I checked all the clamps on the magnaflow catback and they are all tight. So I then try to track down the rattle and it sounds like its comming from something on the pass side before the Y pipe??? any Idea what this could be? oh and I checked the HPtuners to see if there was anything amiss. nothing out of the ordinary... IAT was red but thats because the car wasnt in motion and its hot as hell here lol

Possibly a blown CAT rattle? Check and make sure the bolts are tight on your mid-pipe as well.

My guess would be the heat shield right above the header on the pass side. Rip that mother off.

edit: there is also an exhaust hangar on that side of the car that you might want to check out.

I've never heard a blown cat rattle lol. but it is a pretty loud hardcore rattle. I've determined if I stick my head down near the pass side head it seems to get louder... so I'll check the heat shield, exhaust hanger and o2 sensor tomorrow... anything else I should check on that side?

check the pipe as it goes over the upper panhard bar.

mine was hitting it and I put a spacer between them: fixed it right up.

So heres what I've checked so far. heat shield is in there pretty good. O2s seem to be in there pretty good too. I tightened the bolts on the Y and no change. maybe they need to be tightened more. It kinda sounds like somethings rattling around in there. could it have something to do with the A/C?

My O2 sensors do this same thing. I know you said they are tight, but try taking them out and banging on the pipe, I bet it's dead silent. There must be something inside of the O2 sensor itself that rattles in my pipes because they are tightened down good.

I think I've just determined its not just pipe rattle considering it gets worse at 1.5k... and eventually goes away... then unless you apply throttle very heavily... after it goes away and the cars warm I knoticed some light smoke comming from the intake mani. so I took off the lid, maf, bellows and opened the TB. theres some smoke in there. I hope a valve isnt screwed. considering anything like that on the car is all stock. I put the stock tune back in the car before I tested this.. I checked all the DTCs its pulling and its the normal AIR and the ones that come up about the computer when you have hptuners... HELP!!! please

You sure it's not the little round pieces of metal on the end of the o2's. I had to put a bit of high temp rtv on them to keep them from rattling.
