People will tell you that there's no better oil than GC 0w30, but if you're more comfortable, mobil 1 10w40 is a decent choice.

Just switch it over. Go with the GC 0/30, and you won't be sorry.

Just switch. I'd go with the GC if I had the choice. I just run M1 5W40 b/c it's easier to find around here.

supposedly the mobil 1 thins out too easily and ends up more like a 20 weight oil. Personally, i've never had any problems with the M1 5W-30, but I am using 0W-40 because LS1's seem to like oil a little thicker. Besides it's better protection at start up and still works well in the houston heat.

I just switched from M1 5W-30 to GC 0W-30 and have been running it for about 600 miles. Oil pressure went up and less valvetrain noise.

That green color is odd, guess it's good they changed it to gold, but clean oil only lasts so long, eventually even the green would probably turn brown-black anyway.

I don't care if it's "titty pink", it's the best I've found so far...

That's only an issue with the M1 30W oils.

M1 0W40 is a fine choice. My LS1 seems to love it. I just don't see the need to go hunting for GC 0W30 when I can get M1 0W40 at 3 different stores within 4-5 miles of my house.

I just bought a case of amsoil 10-30 and a couple oil analysis kits and a couple of their oil filters.

I hear good things about there oil so I figured I would give it a shot and see.

I will be using it on my new 408 after the break in oil, and doing oil analysis tests ever time I do a change.

If anyone one's interested I might start a thread and keep everyone posted.

Please do so. This will be a good look at how the wear metals of an engine change throughout the life cycle.

Did you purchase through the LS1tech link to help support the site?
