what does your car idle at?
All LS1 years A4 are set to 650 park/neutral, 550 in gear.
The stock tachs aren't perfect, so you may see different readings on the gage. A scanner is the only way to tell for sure if the car is idling at the proper RPM.

EDIT: had the car out last night. cold was about 1000 RPMs and when it was warm it was at 800-900 RPMs

So my factory tach is off about 300 RPMs.
I set mine at 550...doesn't need to be any higher..used to idle at 750..thought i would try lower and see what that was like..smoother and alot quieter.
