Yeah, I punched it from a 15 mph roll and had some air in the gas lines it seemed like because the car was hesitant, but after that it ran fine, runs better now with the new fuel filter, throttle response seems better.

Sorry for thread digging.. But I just changed the fuel filter on my car.

I think everyone who has the stock filter on their car should leave their house right now, buy a new filter, and install it!!! DO IT NOW!!

LOL.. nah but really, I tried blowing air into my old filter and barely any came out...I feel sorry for my fuel pump. Stock filter @ 70k miles.

How often do you change your oil?!

Damn, I'm all about proper maintenance, I do stuff way sooner than it needs to be, but new plugs and fuel filter every oil change? LOL, not even I would do that....and I'm crazy. That's just overkill.

10K is a good change interval for the fuel filter.

every 3,000 miles. yes it's overkill but I'm very picky about preventative maintanance. u can learn alot about how ur car is running buy reading the plugs, checking the coolant often, looking at the color of ur oil and how thick/thin it is....things like that. I even use mobil 1 diesel truck synthetic with the 6.0L filter. I even read all my plugs once a week...maybe once every 2 weeks.

Okay I know this is an OLD thread but im sorry I just thought I would chime in:

I will be replacing my fuel filter, my car is at 201,000 miles!! Rebuilt Engine + Differential but I just recently bought it. The previous user did not do ANY maintinace to the vehicle, the engine died because he didnt replace the oil in 16k miles, I am sure he never replaced the fuel filter which scares me! Ive only driven it 8k miles and I should have done it earlier too, i know i know bad me. I will post pics of the potentially 201k miles fuel filter!

Can Do Can Do. Should I take pics of it intact and also cut it open to see how dirty it is?

You mean for the differential? No. You have to get that at a dealership. It was only a couple bucks so I think you'll be fine.

I bought the car 5 months ago and just changed the fuel filter with 85k on the clock. The mounting tab was pretty well rusted to it and wd 40 was my best friend. Once off, I couldn't even blow through it. I feel no difference with the new one on there, but I'm pretty sure she likes me better for it haha.

Quick Reply: Changed original Fuel Filter at 105K!!
