The a/c idler pulley can be more of a pain to find than the a/c tensioner pulley. I think I saw one on Autozone's website but they didn't have it instore. You could always just get it from GMPD if you don't mind waiting.

i've been to orielly autozone carquest and parts plus and either they dont carry it or they try to sell me the idler pulley for the main belt drive not the a/c. i looked on their websites and found idler pulleys under cooling and heating but when your read the discription it says (main drive alt, pwr steering, etc.) so i dont think it is the right one. On top of that, they told me they would have the order it (it, as in the idler i dont think is the one i want) and that i will have to prepay. So i ask the guy if its not the right one can i get my money back? he says no, i say can you garuntee that this is the a/c idler? he says no. so i leave. I think i'm just going to have to buy it from gm, but like i said its $45, so i figure i'd ask you guys to see if anyone had previous experiences before i spend that kind of money.

I got mine at Advanced Auto. I couldn't find an exact match on a 2001 Z28, but here's what I found for my 1998 Z28. You may have to set the site search to your zip code and to a 1998 Chevrolet Z28.

To verify my part number if you look in the catalog under Firebird and look under ac heater/air cond/idler puller it's right there. For some reason it doesn't show up under the Camaro catalog, but they're both the same part.
