Car doesn't start on the first try
This has been happening to my husband's car, 2000 T/A, for a little over a year. It cranks but doesn't turn over until the 3rd or 4th try. This morning it took like 10 tries before it fired up.
It's been to the shop and different parts have been replaced (Starter, crankshaft position sensor, ECM, A.I.R. pump, battery). Once something is replaced it'll start up just fine for about 2 to 3 months and then the problem comes back.
Has anyone else had this problem? If so, any suggestions to where we can take it to get this fixed once and for all? We have extended warranty.
Thanks
Check these little things 1st and then let us know if this fixes the problem.
I posted at the same time you did. Sorry that's why I didn't answer you. Once it starts it runs great. Just yesterday he took on a late model Mustang
. I'd say that maybe 5,000 to 6,000 has been put on it since the new plugs and wires have been installed. As soon as my husband gets home we'll check the wires and make sure everything is nice and tight.

I'll keep yawl posted.
There's plenty of fuel pressure, no misfires and no codes (a code reader was hooked up while the car wasn't starting). The aftermarket alarm's "kill-start" was disengaged.
Any other suggestions? My husband wants to get rid of it and in clear conscience I can't, not with this problem. Plus I love it because it used to be mine before it was his.
Would changing out the plugs again make a difference? I'm desperately asking for your help. Thanks.
