Default heater problems????

dont know if this the correct post but here it goes... i have a 95 Z28, the car was just bought not long ago and the heater barely supplies any heat.the blower works so thats not it. i tore apart the entire passenger side lower dash to get to everything. i checked all the vacuum lines and any other visible signs that could be causing this. then i took the heater core cover off and felt the heater core, i could touch it with my bare hands? shouldnt it be as hot as the antifreeze running through it? is it the heater core has a problem or is there any other common problems that the f bodies suffer in this department? any help would be greatly appreciated, its way to cold to drive around without heat.

Could be the t-stat, or some kind of blockage in the core.

This is going to sound silly, but I have to ask... did you check the radiator level and not just the overflow tank? (It sounds like the heater hoses were hot, so it's probably not this.)

Id say you got a coolant blockage, did this on a 94 Z28 I bought at a sale one time. Flushed the system and it got extra warm. Id say that would fix your prob.

no because if it was a a thermostat problem the thermostat would not open which in turn wouldnt allow it to flow

coolant level is good, i guess i just might try the flush on it. so you dont think it has anything to do with vacuum lines then?

Well I would try flushing it first, heater core prob has blockage in it, small piece of trash can cause it.

I went out and bought some Zerex 10 minute flush, and a flush kit today and changed mine out. When all the fluid came out it was a nice baby-**** brown lol. I also changed the thermostat while I was at it. It blows HOT now. I'd try that. Just don't do it in the freezing *** rain. That's always fun.
