Default Bmr K member Broke!!!!!!!

so i pulled into a parking lot and heard a loud pop. drove 3 blocks home and thought i just broke a tie rod.
today we finally got a decent day so i could go out in the garage and look at it and i found out my k member is broken.
i have power steering fluid all over so i think my rack is done also.
sad part is this k member isnt even a year old and barely had 5k miles on it.

i cant believe how rusty that is. i never drove the car in snow or in salt . maybe rain a couple times.i am contacting bmr on monday about this.

looks like older version BMR K member? the newer ones don't have that box for the control arm IIRC.

so they made an updated one? i bought it about 8 months ago from a non sponsor on here.
i was just informed that the k member is over 2 years old. either way BMR told me they are standing behind their product which is awesome.

You can see in the pic that there is rust in the weld. It was either cracked for some time or a really bad welding job.

yeah i noticed the rust too, ive had the car in the air many times. if you look at it in person it only looks like half of it was welded.

I never have trusted those things, alot of the third gen guys bought the tubular LS1 K-members and had problems with them breaking which is why I didn't buy one. Personally, the K-member is a major support point of the car so why would you want to use less material which is lighter but not as strong. I just don't see the point. This is just my worthless opinion but I haven't been convinced they are worth the money and weight savings yet... Hope you get a new one and get the car back on the road.
