Default ABS inop and TCS off lights on....

but ONLY in the morning. It's weird. Car drives fine, get home in the evening, park it in the garage, gt up to go to work at the butt crack of dawn, start the car, and both of those lights are on. Going to lunch, lights aren't on. Process repeats itself the following day. Don't know if this is a factor, but it has been raining for a looooong time here in north Texas, and i'm just "thinking" maybe something got too wet? Any ideas?

I would unplug the electrical connectors for the wheel sensors and make sure they are clean, dry and tight. If it is an intermittent problem I would guess that one of them is dirty, loose, or getting wet. Just a guess, but it's an easy thing to try.

200th post woohoo!

My TC 'off' light was on a week ago on initial startup, and pushing the button did nothing. I started again a little later in the day, and it was off, and the button worked. My issue was a battery on its last leg. I replaced the battery (4.5 years), and everything is fine. I'd take it to Autozone and have it tested - could be an easy fix. The battery cranked fine and everything seemed normal, but it was close to biting the dust.

It has a pretty new battery thats about a year old. But i guess it wouldn't hurt to test it to be sure. Since it's been parked for a day, it didn't do it this morning, so i'm guessing its a wet connector or something.

I'm pretty sure you can have the codes turned off with tuning.

If you open up your gauge cluster though you will see individual boxes/slots where each led fits into its own slot for the designated light that it displays on the guage panel. I just put some foam I had laying around in the ones for the ABS slot and brake slot to block out the light from the leds.

DO NOT YANK THEM OUT.

Actually there are a few more things it could be than just an abs sensor. You'll need a good scanner to pull the codes out, as not all of them will read ABS faults. It could be a speed sensor, break in the wiring, loose connector, bad ABS controller, etc...the list goes on.

There should be stored faults in the ABS control module, a good scanner can let you know what they are. From there you can diagnose the issue.

An ABS/TCS fault will not illuminate an SES light. SES lights are for emission problems. When there is a fault with ABS/TCS, the ABS INOP/TRAC CONTROL OFF lights come on.

Unfortunately you can't tune the lights out, ABS/tcs has its own controller, not the PCM.
