Default Just got my Y Pipe on and....

First of all, the offroad Mac with the Magnaflow sounds KILLER! However, now that I have it on, sometimes in frist it gets slyggish. It studders a bit when I hit the gas, but then it takes off. Is this a tuning issue since I took off the cats?

Only happens in first? What about when you mash it in any other gear, what happens then?

Is your Y-pipe hitting the exhaust at any point?? If so, it can set off the knock sensor, which will make the car feel sluggish as hell as the timing gets pulled back.

Umm, I'm confused by the last question. By exhaust, you mean...? The pipe bolts to my manifolds and then meets up with my Magnaflow exhaust. Can you clarify for a noob please?

some y-pipes will hit the floorboards underneith the drivers seat. If this happens, the knock sensor will hear the noise and assume it is the engine producing it, so it cuts back your timing which means you will go nowhere real fast. When you hit the gas in first gear, do you hear a banging sound from under your seat?

The pipe may not be touching the floorboard when you look at it up in the air. the problem is when you hit the gas and the engine torques to the side, making the exhaust hit. A few people put a stiffer engine mounton the drivers side to help this problem. Thunder racing also sells a rubber bump stop that attaches to the exhaust pipe.
