Default Window tint...how to remove

My dad bought a 98' TA of this guy from around here and wants to get rid of the tint in the car. It's peeling and bubled. What is the best way to get this stuff off?

If you search this forum for the countless posts on this topic you will see that rubbing alcohol works wonders on getting the glue off...since I just did this exact same thing, this past weekend, It works great.

Tinting is what I do. I usually don't use harsh chemicals. Except on the back glass if it has a defroster. The key is heat and several new razor blades. If you can do it outside on a warm day it will go a lot smoother. This can be tough in the winter but just wait for the warmest day you have. Use a new blade on each glass. This is the most common mistake but blades get dull after a few minute of scraping. As far as the chemical I just use plain old Windex. Start a corner, pull it off in 1 piece and scrape the glue. If you have a defroster, use the stronger chemicals as needed and scrub it with a white scotch brite pad

It will cut the defroster lines and break the defroster. That's they were saying rubbing alcohol only on the rear window with a defroster.

I used a Shark portable steam cleaner to get the glue off, nothing else worked. Tried a razor blade and it scratched the hell out of my window and had to replace it.

We use a steamer some but not a lot. The only time it is really good is on a back glass with defrost or if the film is coming off in little pieces. All it does is heat up the glue to break it down. It still doesn't do as good as sunshine imo. There is no substitute for natural heat.

Nothing else would get the glue off my windows. Tried soap/water, goo gone, ammonia, windex, gasoline, and some other stuff I can't remember. Guess my tinters just get the glue on better.
