A/c TICKING

A/c TICKING whenever I turn on my AC I hear an awful ticking, it sounds like its coming from the belt because when I accelerate the ticking accelerate also
also I got an SES light today and the ticking is at its worst, would an ac issue throw a SES code

You can find a used one for cheap. I wouldn't in a million years pay to get it installed, but you are gonna have to pay for a recharge, since you can't put a vacuum on the system unless you have the machine.

they have a vacuum at harbor friehgt for like 20 bucks but you need an air compressor to make it work.

wow. conveniently i have the exact same issue. i was told to try the tensioner and the idler pulley before spending the cash on the compressor. tried the tensioner today (and a new belt while at it) and that didnt solve anything. before dishing out the $500 for a compressor, i would like to try a couple other things. would a simple recharge help at all? i am not very knowledgeable with the AC system. again, the AC blows cold air, just sounds terrible....

can you replace/grease the bearings/clutch without having to replace the compressor? is it rather simple, i am not a mechanic, but i am rather capable of working on cars if i have a little knowledge of the item. common sense goes a long way

you can always go to autozone, checker, etc and get them to read the code for you to know if its associated or not
You usually replace the compressor, dryer(Accumulator), and orifice tube at the same time. You may get away with not replacing the dryer. Kind of depends on how old it is.
Try to find a write up somewhere, I'd do it but I'm about to leave the house.

got a new ac compressor and dryer and all the fixen, i have a mechanic that always gets me great deals and he got me everything and installed it. It overall cost me about 350 bucks. But damn am I glad that ticking is gone
