Default Name that hose!

Alright, here are some pics of what I found looking at my car today:

What is this? Right now I have no AC coming out of my front vents and my car surges a little (100-200 rpms) at idle. Could this be the cause?

The little hose seems to connect to the back of the intake manifold after going through a big loom.

Thats the hose that supplies vacuum to the AC servos that move the control doors and changewhere the air comes out. So yes that is your problem.

Thanks. What is the black cylindrical looking thing? I've been trying to search for a name for the part so I can replace it. Would it be the entire hose assembly?

The black cylinder thing should be a check valve.

FYI
You should be able to get the vacuum hose from your local auto parts store.

The other poster was right; it is a check valve. However, I did not replace it. I removed the check valve and just used a plastic T joint and connected the 3 hoses to it. Now, my AC works and no more surging.

Thanks for the help!
