Default WTB - Headlight Motor

Hey guys. Any suggestions on what kind of headlight motor I should buy? I know some auto parts stores have them, but I don't know how well they work. Also, how do i replace the motor? My current one has wires hard-wired into it.. I believe there are only two wires correct? I need to get that damn headlight working again..

Thanks in advance

have you reseached this yet?
if not, there might be a possiblity you just need the gear inside the motor. very common for the nylon teeth to strip out.

They shouldnt be hard wired unless someone hard wired them before you got the car.Mine needs to be hard wired or replace the harness cause the contacts inside are shot.I have a used motor that I will make you a good deal on,and it has a new gear inside off it also.I bought a new motor for mine thinking it was broken but it turns out the harness was just bad.
to replace it is not too bad. you have to remove the black cover from around the headlights and then remove the metal cover. next remove the 2 torx bolts that the headlight hinges on and then remove the 10mm nut from the motor shaft.
there are three bolts that hold the motor in place and you need to remove them also. after that you just reverse the process for the new motor and hopefully your fixed.
you will need 2 10mm wrenches and preferably a stubby gear ratchet wrench or 2 to work in there.
You will have to kinda move the headlight up and down to get to some of that stuff also but you will figure that out.

Yeah I've already been inside the motor before. First my gear went, then I replaced it with an aluminum gear. Now it just doesnt do anything at all. It doesn't make any noise, doesnt move or do anything, its dead. Do the wires from the motor go off behind a metal piece in the motor, where the harness may be located? I tried to pull my motor out completely last time I was working on it, and wherever the wire ran back to was keeping me from taking it out. I think the harness is back there. Your deal sounds good but I wanna be sure that my harness isnt bad first. How would I go about doing this, if you could please?

yeah the harness should be right below the motor. there should be six wires I believe all on the harness and then two pairs of wires should come from the harness to the headlights.there should only be about 7-10 inches of wire from the motor to the harness.
here is a url that may be usefull for you and has a picture of the entire assembly at the end

there are also fuses for the headlight doors under the hood that may be the culprit if you have not checked them already.

Thanks man, appreciate the help. My drivers side headlight is the only one that isn't coming up. If thats the case could it still be fuse related? I just wanna be sure because I don't want to spend money on a new motor if I don't have to.. While i'm at it, how much would you want for your motor? And how were you able to tell your harness was bad, and whatd you do to replace it?
Thanks again

One more thing if you could. Which fuse is for the headlight opener? I remember going through the fuses a few weeks ago and I don't remember seeing one. Thank you

on top of the fuse box under the hood you will see a couple of fuses labled rt hdlmp door lt hdlmp door or something similar you know.after I checked mine I looked inside the harness and saw the terminals were corroded on the car side and one was even gone.
