Default To all running Meziere race water pump....

I want to make sure that I'm ordering the right pump here. It is part number

MEZ-WP-119S Water Pump Electric Black GM LS1 98-02 F-Body, 97-Up Vette, Chevy 5.3

I have heard that I will need another tensioner with it. Can anyone confirm that this is the race pump?

Okay, I went ahead and ordered it. Do I need new inlet and outlet fittings? I have not seen that I need that in any old posts, but according to Meziere I do?

IIRC, it comes with the outlet fitting, but you have to purchase the inlet fitting yourself (or maybe that's the other way around...).

I'm moving this to external engine since there's no actual racing content...

Sorry, I thought that everyone who ran it would be in the Drag Racing section a good bit, and a lot of the people don't check the External Engine section.

Where did you get the pump for $400? Can I get one at that price?

This is not the street pump. This is their older race version of the pump. I got mine from Summit.

Why not just pay the $50 more from a sponsor and get the street pump which needs no modification??

You have to buy the lower fitting. It comes with the upper already installed. If I remember correctly, I had to buy an 1 1/2 fitting for it. The top radiator hose will work but the one going to the bottom fitting has to be replaced. I just went to Pep Boys and bought a flex hose. You will have to do some creative thinking when it comes to the tensioner. I ditched mine and bought a turnbuckel from the hardware store. It connects to the Alt and I use it to tighten the belt.

This one weighs less, looks better IMO, is a good bit cheaper ($100), and is only on a few street cars.

Thanks! Did yours come with a plug for the other hole, or did you buy one? If so, is there anything special about what kind of plug?
