Default TSP Y problems?

This is beyond "not fitting quite right". The TSP ORY is the worst thing I have ever bought for my car. If I wanted to spend 8 hours shaping metal I would have saved the 130$ and just got some pipe sections from an auto parts store. Heres how this fits (with the pacesetters that it as sold with):

This is just a warning for those considering buying this part. I should have gotten the pacesetter one and been done with it.

EDIT: after looking at many pictures I figured out I got 2 pipes of the same side, so I just cut it up and made my own.

Looks like you have the 2 pipes backwards.

Nvm I thought I was seeing something else. That is pretty bad.

looks like you have it attached to your catback, but not the headers... try attaching it to the headers first and see if that helps any...

I agree with you man I have had 2 TSP Y-pipes and had the worst luck with the both of them. Sorry TSP but I agree with the OP. Those y-pipes are crap.

I had the same luck. I finally got mine to fit and has leaked a bit over time, but whatever I don't feel like dealing with it without a lift.

Nah, it wasn't the problem. I seemed to get 2 of the same pipe, I figured out my looking at pictures of it put together. I was missing a smaller section that was making it all whacked out. I just cut it up and made my own after a while, works fine now. I'm pretty sure it would have went well if I had the small section. But thats okay, TSP has been really good for me otherwise, this was just frustrating.

The catback and i-pipe for the catback should go on last, as already mentioned in this thread. I had to cut my i-pipe down some as well to get installed. I could never get it to really fit right though, and it leaked like a shived inmate. This weekend I removed my TSP ORY and installed a QTP ORY, that went on with very little fuss and sucks up to the undercarriage nicely. I have QTP headers, so I probably should have used the QTP to start with, but the TSP at the time seemed like a good cheap alternative.

which QTP's do you have, I have the old style and if I get a new catback was thinking of picking up their y-pipe to replace this TSP one if it tucks up better and i figured itd have a better merge. you have any pics of yours?

I bought my QTPs March of this year. I am guessing that is their latest design. 1 3/4 primaries into the HVMC. I will take some pics for you this afternoon.

I notified Trevor @ TSP about this issue a while back. The TSP Y-pipes do fit like total ****. I've quit using them and will refuse to install them until the issue is fixed.

That being said they were notified so hopefully the problem will be fixed soon.

Not to hijack the thread, but how does the pacesetter fit?

the pacesetter fit good and give a lot of clearance but will bang on the floorboard without other modifications like poly motor mounts. ask me how i know.

Pacesetter fitment is ok, but guaranteed to bang your floor boards without modifications.

I have talked to TSP about this before also. The pacesetter y-pipe gives great clearance what you need though is poly motor mounts or else it will bang on the floor board. And drive you f-ning nuts.
