If you are refering to the big black plastic box that sits behind the pcm, that is the heater core. If you remove that you won't have heat. If you just want to remove the AC then just unbolt the AC lines from it and leave it and remove everything else for the AC.

no the evaporator core for the A/C is in the box that juts into the engine bay. the heater core is under the dash in the black box

Ya but you can't remove just the part under the hood. It's all or nothing.

Yeah you could just disconnect all of the lines, remove a/c compressor, etc. and leave the HVAC box and have heat, or you could remove the HVAC box and get a delete plate.
The HVAC box is going to come out from the front, you will have to pull the pcm, pcm bracket, and anything else that is in your way.

ya u can just cut off the front portion that juts into the engine bay. that holds the evaporator for the A/C. cutting off the front portion and removing the evaporator and install an A/C delete plate to keep heat

You totally remove the AC Lines and leave the ones for the Heater Core.

I removed everything, cut the box, and made a Panel out of some aluminum.

This is how I did it..
