spark plugs and intake What is the best spark plugs to run in a daily driven LS1 sometime a weekend track car? Also looks wise is there any difference in an LS1 intake and a LS6 intake
Plugs, go with NGK TR 55s, MSD wires.
Intake, yes, look wise the LS1 IM has a curved in bottom. The LS6 is flat. The LS1 has EGR the LS6 does not unless it's the SLP.
No whats wierd, I've been using TR55's and then I would gap them for my needs, for like 11 years. I went a couple weeks ago to buy a new set and not one parts store has them and none of the people that worked at them said they ever heard of them. Pretty wierd. I know they're the same exact plug just different factory gaps, but damn, the TR55 has been around forever.
That's weird, I went to a auto parts store and the guy behind the counter told me he couldn't find a water pump for the car I needed it for. He said that they just didn't carry it for that car. I called the manager over and poof it magically apeared..for 32$ with lifetime free replacement...$5 core. Wouldn't suprize me they've never heard of em.

NGK's or Autolites for spark plugs. As stated before the LS1 and LS6 intakes look virtually the same from the top, subtle difference in the lower portion(bottom side) of the intake. The LS6 will flow enough air to support up to 650 hp and beyond and they are fairly cheap to obtain.

go back and ask for v-powers. i actually went and tried to get tr55 today and they said they didnt have them. well they got the ngk book out and they are actually called v-powers and ngks part number is tr55 first 5 means heat and second 5 is for gap.
