Help me fix the ticking.
-The tick is audible with the hood closed while standing next to drivers side front door.
-It is loudest from underneath car and seesm to be coming from the collector of the header.
-During acceleration it ticks, but when I let go of throttle, ticking stops.
-I have done the AIR restrictor mod, but it only silenced the tick a tiny bit. I am pretty sure check valves are burnt up, and if so, will those still be fluttering and ticking?
-I have checked the spark plug wires and they are on tight.
-When i open the engine bay and listen for the tick, I can hear a very slight ticking coming from check valves, but most of the ticking seems to be coming from the injectors.
Any suggestions on where to look next? I'm pretty sure it's not an exhaust leak because i've checked the hell out of it.
Thanks all.

position, only RPM. If you foot-stall it, give
it gas, and it gets louder, it's an exhaust leak.
Thin-wall headers will transmit more of the
exhaust pressure pulse through the wall, making
more noise. No getting around this (except maybe
by wrapping them to muffle it). But you ought to
take a stethoscope (or make one out of a few
feet of 5/16" clear PVC tubing, stuck in both
ears; those cheapo airplane headsets work too)
and listen close to the collector flange and
the merge welds. If you don't find any leaks
then chalk it up to acoustic transmission
through the tube wall.

so far I jsut went ahead and ordered some check valves for the AIR system as I'm sure those are toast. If that doesn't get rid of the ticking, then hell I'll just have to live with it. That's what the sound system's for in a Chevy right? To Muffle the valvetrain noise and body squeaks and rattles?
