Header install Grinding the tabs on block?

I am getting ready to install headers on my TA and as much trouble as those tabs on the side of the block gave me getting my macs out i was thinking of grinding the tabs on both sides of the block off..........anyone done this? Is there anything i need to worry about before i do this?

No, those tabs are a PITA for most people and from what I have seen will cause no issues if you grind them down. I installed Pacesetter LT headers on my Z28 and those tabs did not give me a bit of trouble, the headers went right in without a hitch. If you are installing Pacesetters might be worth it to try puting them in before you grind them off. I did also do prothane motor mounts at the same time though so this could be why I had no issues with the tabs being in the way. Good Luck!

I've installed Pacesetters on 3 Camaros, and every time I had to grind the tab off on the driver side.

A sawzall takes care of it quick

i did it out of precaution when i did my LT install.

with a handheld hacksaw it took all of 3 mins.

why not...nothing to be lost by doing it...

i have pacesetters and i didnt grind off the tabs, then again i had my heads off so maneuvering the headers were alot easier

Thx guys ya i think i might do it just so i dont mess up the finish on Brand new LTs im running 1 7/8 so its going to be even tighter than the pacesetter going in
