what were your TRACK results with the fast 90 or 92mm intakes?

all i seem to see is good dyno numbers. high numbers are fun but how many of you have actual track results of your fast intakes in comparable weather. thats where it counts! the difference between your ls6 intake in +2000 DA and your fast intake at -1000DA is pretty much void haha.
lets try and get intake only swaps...as in the only change between runs was the intake and throttle body. make sure and say what intake you had before the swap and list out your other major mods if you feel like it.

honestly, most people dont so back to back testing with the 92/92. dyno testing makes more sense. but you can see the gains in the midrange torque and a decent amount of power in the upper rpm's. it just makes sense. i dont see why it WOULDNT pick up. esp. in a cam only or HCI car.

i didn't say that you were not allowed to buy a fast intake. i gave my opinion. i was taking everything into account. you need to buy the intake and a throttle body and have it installed. i haven't seen much more than 10 additional horsepower with a fast intake while running stock heads. i am not saying it isn't possible but from the most part that is what i have seen. the cost isn't worth the benefit in a lot of situations in my honest opinion.

I gained 21rwhp and picked up power and toque at EVERY point in the curve. I have a 90mm DBW throttle body so both intakes had the same advantage.
I ran my truck on the dyno, swapped the intake and ran it again. No tuning, stock heads, stock cam, stock exhaust manifolds, stock everything!

On a 346ci LS1 with crap stock heads the results are usually different than yours. An LS1 with a good sized cam will see good gains with a fast, and adding good flowing heads make the gain from the fast even better.

The LS6 is a great intake. I would never spend the money on a FAST unless I had at least a cam. The FAST makes alot of power in the upper rpms where the stock cam and heads start to top out. It will improve track times but I too am interested in how much. Since I installed my cam, heads, headers, intake all at once I cant really judge how much teh FAST did for me.

I know this is a old post but i've noticed this as well. Everyone that post dyno gains never say anything about track gains. Now who would spend over $1,000 for intake & TB and another $250 for porting and not take the car to the track? They wouldn't. This is exactly why i've always been leery about spending that much money since i don't really care about dyno results since i don't drive on a dyno. It's more important what it can gain at the track. The average dyno gain is between 15rwhp to 20rwhp and about 15rwtq and less on smaller head/cam setups. That's only about 1 or 2 tenths in the 1/4 mile. Not a hell of a lot of gain for $1400+.

So you did all that work to a Chevelle and you never took it to the track before and after the intake install? " noticeably stronger" isn't a true test. And "dynoing 325hp to running the mph of a car with 350hp-360hp" doesn't even make sense. So what mph did you run? What ET did you run?
