Default Anyone using QTP dual cutout y-pipe?

Anyone using dual cutouts with any success? Saw this, and wondered how it would work with my mods, and if anyone else was using it?

damn that looks like it would be fun to have I have a friend with a single QTP cutout and it is fun to pull up to lights and then open it.

Most definitely loud, but surprisingly manageable with them open on the highway. above about 70 mph is tones down a lot.

I went from stock manifolds with cats and cutout, to this setup, and the SOTP increase is HUGE. I've got the TR 224 on a 114 and it seems to breathe SO much better.

Last night was driving downtown and as I drove in front of a parking garage I set off a car alarm inside the garage. The QTP cutout openers rock as well. I had the McCord and the QTPs seem to seal a little better.

Edit: My car is the one Arctic98Z mentioned

I plan on getting the Hooker headers with this particular Y pipe. The only thing I'm worried about is if i have to add any piping to the cutout area for air flow purposes...or is it fine to run it like it is...and is says that it comes with the switch and QTPs themselves. are they already mounted on the y pipe? got any advise on the install? thanks Justin also what kinda switch did u use and where did u put it?

The cutouts themselves don't require additional tubing, but there is an additional piece, that mounts to the Cutout opener that works in effect like a turndown.... it's not necessary, though it may help keep some soot off of the underside of your car.

The cutouts come individually, and it's easiest if you wire them into each other, so you only have one switch to mess with, when opening the two cutouts. Any double throw momentary switch would work, I still haven't decided which one I'm going to use.

The cutouts don't come on the y-pipe, but attach very easily.

Install advice, get the car pretty high in the air, we used 6 ton jack stands and two 2x4 blocks of wood... but, that was probably higher than needed. Also, remove the steering shaft as it makes the driver side a LOT easier to get in. We also had to remove some oil thingie that sat just above the oil filter, the bolts from it were in the way (and scratching the header on the way up)

All in all, it wasn't hard, we took our time, watched movies and ate pizza, and still didn't take that long, we started at noon, and were done by 9:30... with lots of breaks.... easily able to be done in 6 hours.

One note on the I-pipe, we had to cut a section off to make the Y-pipe mate up, which means you need a good cutting tool. We had a pipe cutter thingie from Auto-zone, but it sucked, so we wound up using a sawzall to cut thru, and it worked like a champ.

thanks for the great information. I was planning on wiring them into each other like u said and use a convertible top swtich so it'll remain a "stock" appearance. :d u know how that is. lol as soon as i can probably when i get my bonus check. I'm getting the hooker headers and that y-pipe. I cant wait. thanks again Justin

Does anyone know if I can use this Y-pipe with Pacesetter headers? Just wondering since they are based off the same design.

Our y pipe fits Hooker, Jet Hot, Pacesetter, Thunder, PPC and Kooks. All are based off the grot design and can run our off road, cutout and cat y pipe. We actually changed the cutout location for better flow. Here is a picture of it on our project car with our headers.

If anyone has any questions feel free to call us.

Are you sure that it fits Pacesetters?

Did you guys quit sending the little add on pipes after the Qtecs? because i didn't get any. Also, what about that hanger on the passenger side, mine doesn't have that?

You guys will also want to take notice that if you have subframes you will have clearence issues with the end of the Qtecs. i have BMR tubulars and had to have my passenger side cut-out re-worked so the Qtech would clear the subframe.

Pacesetters are based of Hooker LT's. They should fit, but I was just wanting a confirmation.
