It's the vacuum system for your HVAC.

Well, I thought the vacuum line for the HVAC was that little plastic line that comes off the back of the intake and went into the firewall there right behind the motor.?

I would bet these are the EVAP lines, from the purge
solenoid at the motor back to the cannister on top of
the fuel tank.

Their are 2 vacuum lines running to the passenger side hollow behind the headlight. They are a forward and return for the vaccuum canister which resides in this hollow. Got this from the GM manual. Did a bunch of research since I seem to lose vacuum pressure after a couple hour drive.

they are for your HVAC system. the vacuum line comes off the back of the intake and right by your ECM there is a Valved T-fitting. from there the vacuum ties into the firewall to your hvac controls, the other line goes across the pass fender well up to the front of the car to a vacuum canister that mounts on the underside of the passenger frame rail. that canister holds vacuum for your HVAC system. that is what its for. every camaro/firebird i've torn apart from 99-02 has all been identical having this.

Default Evap Fuel Feed line

I recently started getting a gas smell in my air vents when car sits in traffic at idle. I talk to some people and they say there is a plastic hose that sits behind the intake in front of the air fit. I was told that either the hose is cracked or the the o ring fittings at each end have gone bad. Went to a pontiac dealer to see exactly where it is and they could not tell just show me the part and how much can somebody please show me a pic or where it is. I know alot of lt1 cars had this problem as well. What I need is to get the hose diameters so I can take it to nappa and get a aftermarket hose from them but the guy said he needs to see the exact size of the hose I really would be great if somebody could send me a pic or something on where it is and what it looks like.
