In EFI-Live, the max is 100ms, which is still just 1/10th of a second.
Adding one full second to coil charge time before discharge is flat out impossible if you want your engine to run.

Ok im going to the junkyard right now. Do MSD wires HAVE to be ran with the coil upgrade? Or can u use the ones already on your car? Im sure this has already been answered I just cant find it in this thread since it blew up so much! Please dont yell at me

More of a tuning question but it seems increasing dwell to 5 milliseconds in conjunction with these Yukon coils would yeild the most. Would increasing dwell time make the motor more prone to detonation?

The limit to increasing dwell is exceeded when the coils cook themselves to death. They do need cool-down time between the dwell (charge) and spark (discharge) cycles.

Dwell time is the amount of time the coil is being charged, in milliseconds. Re-watch the video to understand the the d585 coils can handle a higher charge, more dwell time, hence releases more energy when the coil is commanded to fire. Again if you try and charge the ls1 coils too long, they will just cook, which is the speculation of what's wrong with the msd coils.
Part of the reason the D585 coils are able to handle more dwell (charge) is because they have a heat sink to help them run cooler.
