Default GMMG or Magnaflow

I just did a cam swap along with long tubes and ORY. I have an SLP Lound Mouth on the car. I loved it before I did the Cam and Longtubes. I love the way it sounds at idle and at WOT but at crusing speeds..sounds like a farm truck and has cackels and pops! Cant stand that..I dont like that at all, is it because of no cats?

Iv been searching and watching vidoes for days and think Iv got ti down to the GMMG or a Magnaflow cat back.

My real question is will the GMMG pop and **** like it does now..Iv also been told it was poping because of the tune..but that doesnt make sense to me..

a coustom y pipe with a flowmaster merge or a good merge will help get rid of some rasp as well. and i would have to say GMMG for the exhaust

i would definitely save the cash and get the GMMG. the magnaflow is a nice popular catback, but once you install it, its pretty quiet. ive been thinking of switching from magnaflow to GMMG also.

the gmmg will sound like a "farm truck" as well. if you don't like the borla sound, do not go with a gmmg catback.

I agree that you should look into a different Y-pipe. A Flowmaster Merge would be a great addition. You could also add some cats. With this kind of Y-pipe, your Loudmouth may again be something you like to listen to. Good luck.

GMMG will rasp and pop with no cats. Good sound with, will be loud...Magnaflow and a cutout(s) best of both worlds...

Magnaflow is quiet at idle but it has a good growl at WOT. Nothing wrong with that at all. Now, put it on a car with a cam and headers and it sounds simply amazing IMHO.

GMMG is going to sound damn loud with the cam as well especially if you think the SLP is loud.

Glad it works for ya. Looks like I am running a different cam then you as well possibly some other stuff. HP/TQ numbers differ also Maybe that had something to do with it? Not sure? Had no issue with my GMMG until the upgrades. To each his own, I do know that with a cam it will be very loud.

That sounds amazing
But if you have the money go for a gmmg, but i personally would just get a magnaflow cat back and put a cutout on it too.

I personally love magnaflow.. I have it on my 98 and its pretty quiet at idle and cruising speeds but when i WOT it.. It turns into a beast. Like a bi polar exhaust. lol. Kind of like it that way since i live next to a cop station and can creep by them all the time with the "quiet" exhaust.

I love loud..I have nothing wrong with a loud car but if it pops and sounds like a damn red necks truck..I hate that...my turd does right now. My car is an LS6 Creat with a .6XX lift/ 24x duration cam, heads, Texas speed longtubes and their ORY..Im afraid if I dont put a ture "muffler" that its still going to pop and crack. I love raspy cars thats my favorite..**** idk..magnaflow sounds good on a heads/cam car I agree but Iv only heard one in person and that was soo long ago I cant remember..but I know it was bad ***..

GMMG Never heard one..but I hear its bad ***..and most here are saying it will pop with out cats..

GMMG sounds amazing on a stock cam'd car. With a cam it gets pretty loud, aggressive and pops even when the car is warmed up. Ive heard it on about 3 different cars and it sounds great on the stockish car but the cam cars its pretty rough.

IMHO Magnaflow has the most amount of rasp in any c/b out there
