Want more power out of my Mac mids.
I am going to try to get my Mac mids to flow better when I do my haed swap and was wondering which Y-pipe collector I should get. I also want to get rid of the connectors and bore out the primaries at the head. Does anybody have pictures if they have also done this.
I'm trying to find what caused my car to dyno 350whp with sig mods.
Thanks.

I got Mac mids because I thought it would be more stealth to the inspection people and to save some money over $1300 longtubes (these were $750 catted). I wish I did longtubes looking back but now I'm just going to change the connectors and collector so it will flow nearly as good as a LT. I dynoed 350whp when people dyno over that with my mods and no cam so I'm searching for the piece stealing my power I paid for.

The MACS aren't the reason you dyno'd 350. Contrary to what the internet will have you believe, Macs don't give up a whole bunch of peak HP to the longtubes on a cam only car.
As stated above, port the primaries and open up the flanges. Then get yourself a real Y-pipe for them, and they'll be giving you about 90% of the power you'd get from a longtube setup.

Don't forget that you are an A4 car and if you look at M6 numbers to compare, you will be disappointed.
Now about the Macs. I run them on my 383 as is, no porting, no flange change and their Y pipe. Does it make the best power, no, but it makes almost 450 RWHP and TQ. This is with an A4 also. My set up with a M6 would be close to 480ish or more. Do I want to change them? Yes. Will I? Eventually, they came on the car when I bought it and very rusty (New Jersey car). The car makes enough power right now for me.
What stall do you run and do you like how it feels power wise to you? Have you raced anyone with those higher HP numbers? How did you do?
Just trying to give you options before you tear into the Macs and don't like the results later.

Thanks for the information, I do use A4 dyno numbers to compare my numbers. There's plenty of bolt-on A4's without a cam putting down 350. Right now I'm on the stock stall but have a ss3200 for it and 243 heads, stock ported throttle body and .040 gaskets. The car feels pretty slow how it is and every day it just feels like it's slower.
I got the 2.5 in pipe connectors for the y-pipe from summit but the listing was wrong and it was 2.5 inch O.D. even though it said 2.5 I.D. plus it was just a piece of pipe when the picture had slits on the ends for the exhaust clamp and a rolled center so the pipe would stop halfway through.

Very true. Also like mentioned above you have an A4 car. A better flowing Y will help out alot. Years ago I ran the MAC's and dyno'd 348 rwhp with a LS6 cam/intake, 3200 stall and bolt ons. I did port the primaries and had a Flowmaster merge welded into the off road Y pipe.
