Default LS6 vs FAST intake Swap

Evening,

Say I was wondering how many pony's I'd gain by changing out my stock LS6 intake for a new 92mm Fast intake ??

Thanks, I appreciate it,

Bon

Stock > possibly nothing, the stock LS6 is a very good unit, I've looked at so many past posts about this and I think the people with real high gains (more than 12rwhp) and under 425rwhp were just given higher numbers by the dyno shop to not feel bad for spending $1200 for the 90/90 or 92/92.

I gained 21rwhp, intake only, no porting, no tuning, no throttle body change. But thats over an LS2intake.

The fast is normally 10-15hp over an LS6 from what Ive seen.

The guys with direct comparison gains.......How much torque/driveability did you lose by switching to the FAST?

I just bolted on a fast 78 with my ported tb that i already had with my ls6 intake. Very noticeable difference in low end and mid range seems the same. top end pulls a lil harder as well. its all about mods and what u pay for. i bought the fast 78 used for a lil bit of nothing after i sold my ls6 intake. Alot of people are dissapointed but alot of those same people are paying 1100+ brand new. Not worth it to some people. Im sure my setup will feel even better when i re tune my car and i can always upgrade my top shell to a 90mm or 92mm and my tb when i feel i am ready. But even if u dont gain much, it still looks BADASS

bolted my fast 90/90 onto my 224/224 cam'd car with block hugger headers and dropped HUGE time at the 1/4mile and was a HUGE improvement for driving on the street. Throttle response is way better and pulls like a raped ape on the highway in any gear. VERY worth while mod for me. My car woke up angry when it went on and its a HUGE difference for us (we did have the LS6 on it for a summer before we swapped to the 90/90)

My dyno in my sig is old as I have not redyno'd since the intake, but the 1/4 times are from last week...

no loss of power at all.

i gained almost 5-10hp AND torque from 3000rpm on the dyno.

info and dyno graphs, as i said it was a close to an apples-apples comparison as you can get.

I would get a cam at least first to benefit from what the fast has to offer. A nice set of heads to go along with the cam will be more beneficial than just buying a fast on a bolt on car.

Why would you lose driveability?

Here you go....I asked this question a while back. My new setup is going on next week and I will let you know what happens. I am adding some other stuff at the same time so take that into account too.

i meant driveability as in torque for around town driving. I remember seeing several dyno graphs a while back comparing intakes. When directly comparing a FAST to an LS-6 i thought I remembered it being lower in power till the upside of 5K rpms. Hence the reason for my question.

i think there have been a few instances of that.

but there have been instances of just about everything under the sun....

my results showed positive and significant gains all across the rpm band. and it actually lowered my peak torque by 500rpm, and my hp still peaked at only 6300rpm.

so its NOT all top end.
