putting on longtubes is no more work than installing those imo... and if you get a good brand and not that ebay stuff they will fit fairly well and won't be much of a hassle at all... the only difference would be that you would have to have an exhaust shop mate the collectors to your existing setup but that's about it

You know there only a hundred dollars I say why not give them a shot, I didn't want to go with long tubes, didn't want to deal with the cost not only headers but cats and a y pipe. There is horsepower to be gained with shorties granted not as much as long tubes but each car is different. Try it, if you don't like it you've gained the experience and can switch later on down the road. I might be a little bias because I have shorties on my car, but I only spent a 100 on them. Even if I only gained 10 horse that is 10 dollars per horsepower not bad in my opinion.

I bought a set of these in "stainless" just to have as an option,
I've got the Y, logs and cats from stock, stored.
The flange meets the "collector" in a brick-wall kind of way.
Not good, probably worse than the logs for turbulence. The
steel is very, very thin. One side of the two has a nice weld
at the head flange, the other side is welded from only one
side and there is a circular gap between tube and flange.
And, just sitting in my shed for maybe 3 months, these
"stainless" headers are surface-rusted all to hell.
If I were to bolt them on I'd be spending a few nights with
the carbide burr, blending the collector flange as best I
could.
I looked for used JBA or BBK shorties for many months and
never found any as cheap as these new ones. But they are
of inferior (quite) quality.
