power sterring deletion question's
please bare with me here as im a noob with ls1's. i have been a mustang guy since i got into this game..
has anyone deleted the power steering by simply looping the lines and keeping the factory rack. we have done this with the fox body's with good success .. this is not a daily driven car and i am well aware of the difficulty at idle turning the wheel, but with the skinnies on the front i think it would be fine, so i am asking from a safety/cheap standpoint here, i have read about people doing the shortbelt mod, but has anyone actually gone further and just kept it that way.. thanks

Mine is looped at the rack. I cut the hard lines down by the rack and connected them with a piece of hose. Been like that for well over a year now and no issues

I cut the factory metal lines on my rack and looped them. It's been on the street like that since 2008 and I have yet to have an issue. But my car really doesn't see a lot of street miles either

Google "fbody looped power steering" and go find images that make sense. Basically "loop" the upper fittings like a power steering pump bypass. This way the hoses just push fluid from one side of the rack bladder to the other in a closed circuit. Very little psi to worry about but be sure it is sealed or your tires will find hydraulic fluid. Don't be THAT guy that dumps fluid on the track and hits the wall.
