Default Magnaflow Question!!

Ok just got a Magnaflow muffler put on today but it sounds like a stock muffler. I have long tube header, y pipe, no cat, and 3in/3bolt cut out(with a plate covering it). I watched sound clip after sound clip of magnaflow and they all sounded good but after the guy started it up I couldn't even here it. Any suggestions???

You can get by with more the quieter your car is. Trust me.

Yea thats what my buddy was saying. I mean worst comes to worst just take the plate off the cut out. But was still looking for that deep roar.

Put some power to it . I had a 4" bullet and it was loud enough that I got a noise violation ticket and stuck a magnaflow on mine to quiet it down as well. I would leave it since you have a cutout, just my opinion.

BTW, it's way more free flowing than your stock even if it is quiet.

It will sound really nice with a set of long tubes, or a cam.

It flows well: I lost 7rwhp vs. cutout open. That was is on a full H.C.I. car.

Here are a few videos:

1) Magnaflow and stock manifolds

2) Manalfow and LT`s

3) Magnaflow, LT`s, Cam

yeah, magnaflow is silent. my buddy had it on his 02 Z28 with long tubes and ORY. he cut it off and junked it.

its a great exhaust for sleepers with strokers that don't want the competition to know!

Yea those do sound good but I have all that minus the cam. Maybe it does just need some breaking in and was driving it to work last night and heard some exhaust leaks i gotta fix =/

Mine is quiet enough to be civil until I punch it at WOT. Then the car sounds like an absolute beast (383 Stroker). I had the same exhaust when running my initial LS1 with bolt ons and mild cam and it sounded awesome then also. I like to be able to have some conversation in my cabin but put the fear of God in someone wanting to throw down. Magnaflow is one of the absolute best free flowing systems there is for the price and quality. Good mix of mild and wild!
