Exactly!! LS motors use a dry intake, no coolant passes through the intake manifold. In order to seal the nylon composite intake to the aluminum heads, the proper neoprene gaskets must be used. The intake has grooves for the seals to sit in, and when installed they seal to the machined aluminum surface of the cylinder head when the bolts are torqued to spec.

LS gaskets are rubber gaskets that are inset into the groves around the ports. i have done 4 or 5 sets on customer cars and a set on my car. you can pick up a set for fairly cheap and just pop the old ones out and press the new ones in with your fingers. its very simple. make sure you clean around the ports on the heads so they gaskets will properly seal. do not use silicon. be sure not to over-torque them. good luck and have fun!
also, the intake has a torque sequence.

i would not recomend using the same ones on the intake , they are probably worn out. you may be ok reusing the valvecover gaskets, unless they are already seeping. again, i don't recomend reusing the gaskets, and i don't understand why you would. i think it's like $10 for valve cover gaskets and only $16 for intake gaskets. doing an intake is kind of a pain in the *** so, you might as well do intake gaskets while you got it off.
