92 mm maf?
92 mm maf? i have a problem. i want to get the fast 92 intake with the throttle body, but i dont see the point of doing so if i cant have a 92mm maf and a 92mm airlid. the air flow is only as strong as the weakest point. so im wondering if anyone knows where to find a 92mm maf and lid. if anyone knows please tell me thankyou
I was also wondering this myself. I want the FAST 92/92 setup, and I've seen SLP's 85mm MAF and TSP's 100mm MAF. I recently dropped 120$ on an MTI lid tho, not trying to make that a wasted investment, but I want the most possible air flowing thru there. Do those large MAF's require large lids or are there aftermarket bellows to connect them? I'd like some input to please

If i remember right I got my lid from speed inc....if not then maryland speed. But pretty sure on the first. I think the stock opening is 78mm, or right around there, so it is quite a dilemma isnt it?

well i found a site that sells a 97mm maf idk if it will work on a ls1? but thats about as close as it gets probly. ive heard that u can just have atuner delte the maf. so i spose u could get the 104mm lid and the fast 92/92 i think that might be the way to go. i dont know what would happen if you deleted the maf though. i know this is off topic but how do like the torquer v2 cam? im thinking about getting that cam. what heads did u go with ?

I absolutely love my Torquer cam! Without gears its probably on the brink of becoming "not streetable" to many, but I honestly love driving it. It lurches a little if you don't keep the revs up while taking off from a standstill, but it's manageable. No dyno yet, but it definitely gave a huge power bump to the car. Pulls hard, especially from like 3500 to redline. I still have the terrible stock heads (806's, worst casting made), looking to get worked over 243's or maybe ported 5.3's. Haven't decided yet. And a FAST 92/92 setup of course, among other things.

the standard lid and maf are NOT a huge restriction when it comes to the intake system.
for reference, on back to back dyno runs i picked up 18hp and 12ft with a home ported FAST 90/90....this was over the LS6 with ported TB on my cam only setup.
car was tuned with the ls6 and then again with the FAST...apples to apples as you can get.
i plan to try a similar comparison in the future (possibly after heads) with a TSP 100mm lid and 100mm maf.
speed density not only requires a specific tune, but once tuned the car will only run at that power level when in the same environmental conditions as it was tuned...for the most part.
put it in HOT and HUMID weather after tuning in cool, dry air...and you could lose 20hp.

If this is even REMOTELY true for you, you need to fire your tuner, or keep him on a MAF-only diet.
I tune many of them in SD and see the WOT AFR stay steady year-round. Where exactly do all of the internet-legends and voo-doo surrounding SD tuning arise from?
