Do stock pullies go bad?
Do stock pullies go bad? I have a bad vibration that is starting on my motor. I have a stocker, but it is keyed. Im also throwing the belt every now and then. ideas?
If you cant see them wobbling, stick a long screwdriver or metal rod and press it again the pulley bolt while the car is at idle. then stick the handle of the screwdriver to your ear. You will know immediately if the bearings are shot..

or do you mean crank bearings? The motor is brand new...about 6000 miles on, so I highly doubt its crank bearings.
the vibrations are occuring at 1700 and 3500 rpm. sometimes its really bad, and sometimes its jsut enough to make my OCD kick in

Does the vibration change with RPM or speed? Check to make sure the bolt is tight and the pulley isn't trying to walk off. Typically pulley's don't go bad but I guess anything is possible.

There is no bearing for the crank pulley, it is pressed onto the crank and secured with a crank bolt. However the pulley is a two part pulley with a rubber like material between the two parts. If that **** rots out that outer part can develop a nasty wobble a cause vibration.
