Default How can I tell if I have an LS6 intake manifold?

I recently purchased my Camaro and recieved documentation that my car had a brand new OEM LS1 in it. The previous owner said it was 02 spec so it had an LS6 intake. I'm now led to believe, due to the part number, that this may in fact not be the case.

How can I tell based on visual inspection if I do in fact have an LS6 manifold?

I tried a search but couldn't find anything on the visual differences.

If I'm not mistaken, you should be able to tell if you have an AIR/EGR tube mounted into the top of the intake, right behind the throttlebody. If you see a circular block off plate there instead of just a solid plastic surface, then you also have the LS1 intake and not an LS6.

If it is just solid plastic with no tube or plate mounted, should be an LS6.

it should have no egr provision in it unless it is an slp ls6 intake, i think they made some of those with an egr provision... probably the easiest way besides that and checking the part # is to just take it off and look at the bottom of it... the ls6 has a flat surface on the bottom and the ls1 intake protrudes toward the middle

Just check the PN to be on the safe side because there are LS6 intakes on SLPOnline that do have the EGR kits also. SO check the Part Number to make it simple.

didn't you say you already checked the part #'s??... mine says 12573572 and came off a z06... i think the 01-02 f body ls6 intakes had a different part # but you would have to do some searching on that... it's on the drivers side under the fuel rail

easiest way is to check if it's flat on the bottom compared to the curvature of an LS1 intake like the pic below. LS6 on the left.
