Default rod clearancing oil pan issue.. any ideas?

i have a 4.100 stroke 418 motor i tried putting together this weekend and found that when you turn the motor over it hite the front of the oil pan... i tried grinding the pan and as it just started to clear i grinded through the pan.. so now i need a pan, i went to summit and they didnt have much of any other kind of pan.. so what i need to know is will a truck pan fit my car? i have a tubular k member.. will the truck pan be deeper up front so it will clear?

the truck pan is considerably deeper than the f-body pan, that will make the oil pan the lowest part of your car...not good.

the parts classifieds has plenty of oil pans, or i just received an email that Mast motorsports has new pans. also, i beleive Milidon makes a pan.

not that will fit the f-bodies. thats the problem with long stroke engines.

What rods are you running? In my experience, the Callies Compstar rods offer the best rod/pan clearance of any of the aftermarket rods due to their profile design and where the bolts are relative to the journals. We've had Eagle rods that were going to require a ton of grinding on the pan, and when we swapped to Compstar they cleared nicely! Might be worth looking into, although you'll be out some more money on the parts and re-balancing

that makes sense now. they are eagle rods.. wish i knew that. oh well. it was hitting where there was a factory bulge.. so i patched the hole with allmetal and it seems to be workin ok for now. its kinda dumb how the companies will make pans for ls1's in every car but the ones they were designed to be in.. wtf is that about?
