Yep.. only reason why the LS1 stuff is so high is because it is fairly new. You have to consider (As I said before) how much R&D time and labor goes into new products.

Remember the fox-body 5.0l stangs have another 10+ years of R&D time and competition to bring the prices down.

Matt, I am very interested in this. Sounds like it could be a good addition to the Kooks headers I ordered from you last week!

I have a couple of questions. Are the two mufflers for the planned production system going to remain as bullets, or will they be traditional mufflers? Will there be any options for different tips?

They will probably stay as a bullet type muffler because of clearance issues. Yes, we are planning on having a slash-cut single tip and a dual/dual option. The tips pictured are not going to be the ones in the final kit.

if you could sell a system like this for less than a Grand, you would find a strong market, but, if you made a system without those silly cats for around 650-750 dollars, you would sell so many you couldnt keep up. And lets be honest a no cats system for $650 would still be making so much profit it wouldnt evven be funny. and id be the first one ordering it.

call me lazy, but i havent read through all the pages, so maybe this has already been brought up.
I love my true dual exhaust and would recommend a true dual setup to anyone over a y-pipe, but I had my setup built on the car and it makes all the difference because the guys could build it to fit to my car. certain things will always be issues with a setup like this; driveshaft loops, tq arms, SFC's. Not everyone has the same setup, so i just think it might be hard to sell a system "through the mail" and expect it to fit right every time. just my .02

CamaroCain: That's why we're bringing in numerous cars for R&D. We are hoping to have no fitment issues with all the popular combinations -- double diamond sfc's, spohn relocated torque arm, other bolt-on t/q arms, aftermarket d/s loops (bmr/slp/etc.). As I said this is a preliminary post about it. We wanted to see the interest, which obviously is quite high, and then we'll progress from there.

or any testing compared to previous set up?

If no clips can you describe and compare the sound to a y-pipe / catback?

No offence man, but the LS1 stuff is 7 years old now. I dont call that anywhere near new

The price is waaaaay out in left field. You can your own built for ~$600. Mine cost me ~$500 with Dr. Gas X true 3" mandrel bends and 2 one chamber flows

Is it that hard to find decent exhaust shops elsewhere around the country? I'm with Country Boy that it shouldn't cost that much. My dual system in 3in. with x, 1 chamber flows, out the back, with $80 tips, and modified cats ran $600. The whole thing was made by a local guy with a mandrel bender.

We will be updating pricing during this week. We are looking into first, how to configure the front end (x-pipe/pipes before) then we'll be making decisions such as tips and mufflers. We should have a few different style bolt-on tips that you guys can choose from, varying price ranges and styles.

Let me finalize some pricing on this and we'll go from there. Personally I'd love to see these systems in the $750 offroad / $1000 catted, but we have to see how much money we're into for mufflers/cats/tips/etc.

I love the setup and would love to have it but I could not see spending 1200 for it when I could get it somwhere else for half the price and be just as good. I agree if it was in the 650 to 750 range with no cats I would buy it.

i would like to see somthing like this made for other types of Headers other than just the Kooks. Like an option the jet hot/hooker or SLP or FLP without having to pay 1200 just to modify when you get it.

Damn If ithis setup came out a month earlier I might have bought it, but I need to get the car back on the road and my KooK's with the y-pipe are suppose to be here tomorrow. I would like to see it with a pair of QTP electric dumps instead of the cats, that will bring it right back to a cool 1000. Keep the updates coming. Badass setup just a little expensive for me. .

You guys are seriously hung on price for something I find to be fairly reasonably priced. The off-road y-pipe for pretty much every header system (sans Pacesetter which is a piece of garbage, IMO) is in the $220+ range. Add to that the price of a catback system (average of about $500) and you're right in the ball park. Somebody has to make some money somewhere. And for the people comparing duals over the axles to dumps before the axle...give me a break.

Give me a break? If it costs more from the axle to the bumper, than it does to fab from collector to axle (including the X-junction and mufflers), then I'll have learned something.

I think think the price of $750 with no cats is pretty good. I would like the option of no tips so I can use my Corsa Tips... Dual cutouts would be an awsome option... Maybe something can be configured (Slip fit like SLP)so cats could be swapped in and out with out too much trouble for inspection time.

Have you even looked at what is required to get the pipes over the axle, then have them exit properly at the rear bumper? It's at least as much work as from the collector to the rear axle, and I'd venture to say quite a bit more. There is a reason why everyone and their brother don't have true duals over the axle kits for f-bodies, and it's not that people don't want it. I'm not looking to bash, just my .02.
