Default anyone know the vaccum for a 98 ls1 stock at idle

my car wont idle under 1200 rpm, i was told it must be a leak because the pcm wont let it idle over 1000. My problem is i cant find any leaks , i even changed the intake gaskets again. starter fuild wont wont also

i can put a gauge on the engine and check that way if someone knows what it should be

I would assume that a '98 would idle close to what mine did stock - somewhere around 30kPa.

21 inches is more than adequate. i usually look for around 19inhg at idle. my Camaro only had 9ingh at idle with the MS4. brakes still worked flawlessly tho.

could be that, could be crud built up around the throttle blade not letting it close all the way....take your air duct off and look around insde the TB and see if its corroded. could also be the IAC motor. it could be stuck as well. if your for sure you ruled out all vaccum leakes, start checking for throttle body problems.

one other place to look for a vacuum leak is in the brake booster. if it goes bad it will leak causing a vacuum leak in there that you wont find on the engine. easiest way to check for that is to pull the vacuum line off the booster and plug it with your finger and see if the idle drops.

try to spray some wd40 around your intake gasket or anywhere you think air could go in. if it revs up when you spray it, the leak is there

i tried that , but not with wd40. If i close the thottle blade with the set screw more what else needs to be done. My old buick gn it would set the tps off crazy if you messed with the thottle blades
