Default true dual exhaust?

i was looking into upgrading my exhaust to true duals. hears my plan. using the stock Y pipe, cut off the the part where the pipes merge and then weld a X pipe (jegs narrow X pipe or Magna flow X pipe) and run 2 slp loudmouth bullets after the X. good or bad idea? will i get any gains? is it a bad idea to use the stock Y pipe? LMK any opinions please. thanks

Sounds good bro. This might be a stupid question but will it still be considered an x pipe if I just take a y adapter turn it around n weld it to the merge of The the stock y? It still makes an x.

IMO you'd be better off puttin a real X pipe in there because if you have the stock y pipe your driver side is pancaked right now from factory

and thanks for the compliment

2nd that, just because you get an "X" shape out of a couple pieces of pipe doesnt make it a true X pipe. Its worth spending a lil money and getting a pre-fabbed piece.
