If you can't do brand new you can nab a refurb (from ACDelco) for ~$100 less. If you use your internetting skills you can find this guy "ACDelco 334-2529A". I can't post a link to a non-sponsor.
Well since no one is running any Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales for Alts, I guess I am going to to run with a Pro-Starts alt, for a 2004 Escalade. I heard they were pretty good and have a lifetime warranty.

Well I went with a delco remy, for a 2004 Escalade, from Advanced Auto. It's NEW, not rebuilt and comes with a lifetime. I found an AC Delco, on line, fro a good price, but what happens if it takes a ****. I could not find anyone local, that carried AC Delco alts... WEIRD.
I'm guess, like everyone else, it will not be a direct plug in, so what kind of connector will I need?
Likely you'll break your pigtail when removing your alternator, best to have an extra on hand. Search fleabay for an LS1 alternator wiring pigtail. Mine pretty much vaporized as soon as I got near it.
You need a 4 pin pigtail but it only needs one wire. Our alternators only have 1 wire going to them but the plug has 4 pins. Go to the local salvage yard and get one from any 99-04 gm v8 for like $4 if you need it.

The advanced auto one will work just fine. Just de-pin the three other wires from the connector. Leave the one you need. I said to go to the salvage yard because you said you couldn't wait for one from ebay. If you can wait, then yes, that one from ebay is fine.
Well, I work 9 to 5 so by the time I get off, the yards are closed. The Advanced Auto one was $30... I think it will be worth the wait on the $7 pigtail
I'm going to do this upgrade. I was looking for a PN in here as well as on Rockauto and went crosseyed. Seriously, there are like 15 different part numbers out there!
So after some sleuthing, I found a number 20989650 that kept being referred to in all of the 321-2128 number sale pages. When I look at the 20989650 page, it refers to 19244751 and 321-2128, which appear to be reman numbers for the KG3 coded alternators (145a). That 20989650 P/N is for a 2010 or so diesel 400ci GM diesel motor, but every GM page I visited cross-referenced 321-2128.
Here's the kicker. Where the 321-2128 number is listed for no less than $250 as a reman KG3 145a part, the 20989650 appears to be new for $95! KG3, 145a, everything you'd want!
So I said screw it and bought the 20989650. I'll report back, watch it show up in some random cube shape or something, lol...
It appears i am going to need to replace mine.
picked up the car from the shop i use for state inspections, and the voltage was down to 10. It has been rock steady at 13 for 9 years i have owned the car. Was down to 8 volts by the time i got home. No head lights, interior lights and an instrument cluster full of warning lights.
