weird to see such a variance with the mti car??

The other car was a 427 with the 78mm version. It would have liked the 90mm version better I would think.

There was no tuning done on the car. The only modification of any kind was the removal of the LS6 intake and the installation of the LSX. This was actually done with the car still strapped to the dyno. As we speak they are installing the same intake on a stock cube, bolt on only M6 car with an LS1 intake. We will post more results later.

Same here Slowhawk. I still haven't received a call yet. Paul said three of the 90mm versions came, but he didn't say how many 78mm versions came in.

I was told they received six total. I was first on the list for a 90MM and gave mine up. So someone got a call courtesy of me today!

There was no tuning done between intake swaps. The A/F ratio was near identical between the 2.

Thunder says 13 wheel on a stock head 346, MTI says 7 wheel on a 427?

Something is not right here? Do both companies sell these intakes, I would like to see some unbiased back to back numbers.

Also, if the fast intake introduces more air into the car for the stated hp increases, wouldn't one think that the a/f ration would change(leaner) if no changes were made between runs?

No phone call from Thunder yet, looks like I won't be getting one in this batch. Daum, they had my hopes up that I would get one in this batch.

Hey dont freak on the small gains on the 427 as the TB is going to be the problem. I tested the TPIS modified LS6 and we got 15rwhp over the entire range. This was with their billit TB and I think we could have made more but it was a long day and I wanted to get my intake back on and go home. I expect the LSX with the 90mm TB to be in the 15-20 range.

This is what I was thinking, it is all bout the bottleneck.

It looks like the stock ported TB does indeed flow more air than the LS6 intake can use, but it probably does not flow enough to support the new LSx intake. Jasons graph does look promising, gains were throughout the whole RPM range ~ More power everywhere!

Anyone From Thunder: Can you comment on the fitment of the intake. Did it seal well?

Anyone from MTI: How big was the cam in the 427 (how high was the peak in the RPM range? Did the intake seal well? Is it possible that the new intake does not breathe all that well up top as it does down low ~ 6000-6500?
