Default Sweet Thunders vs. One Chamber Flowmasters

Ok guys, which one is louder. I've listend to both on LS1sounds.com, but you know how that goes. I want to find out from people who have heard both in person. I want loud, yet a nice sounding tone, so bullets are out of the questions. Need to decide ASAP on the mufflers for my dual set-up, so post up guys. Thanks in advance for the help.

Sweet thunders on my TSP dumped true duals are pretty damn loud. No cats of course.

Loud enough for my iphone not to register how loud it is (sounds like *** on video, but great in person) when I'm recording :/
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tlvykX5UXA

I believe my tuner had to plug his ears... so yeah... go for that I guess.
That said, I'm literally in the process right now of switching to a TSP ORY-Magnaflow catback with dual electric cutout setup. So what does that tell you?

Depends on what you have done. Before H/C/I. bolt on only with TD's and sweet thunders, it was loud but tame when you weren't on it. Sounded very mellow and deep. Loved it

After T-rex, still sounded pretty good but way to loud and not nightime friendly.

Stock internals- do it
Cammed - pick something else, unless you like it loud

When I bought my Camaro it had a custom 3 inch system with single chamber Flowmasters dumped, it was VERY loud. Kinda like driving a race car around. Then I had 3 inch pipe ran under the axle into 4 inch tips that possibly made it louder. As far as how it sounded I thought it sounded great it was just to loud for me, well not as much me as every cop around here. Got two tickets and decided she had to come off. If your worried any at all about cops then I wouldn't do the flowmasters because with those there was no higher gear and roll on bye but I've never heard the sweet thunders so I couldn't compare. Sweet thunders could be louder though.

I've had both Sweet Thunders and now Flowmasters. IMO the Sweet Thunders sounded great before the cam but after, got a little too raspy for me. Now the single chamber flowmasters sound absolutely insane!! They are pretty loud but have a nice, smooth tone and sound awesome when screaming at 6700 RPM's!

I got the TSP Duals with the Dynomax Bullets on mine. They sound amazing. I haven't found a video that really shows just how loud they truly are. Here is mine, obviously like I said before the video doesn't exactly show how loud it is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfJ_dNQe4G0

Since you've had both, which did you like better and which was louder, before the cam that is? I don't have heads/cam yet, but will in the future.

It's really hard to compare which was louder because the sweet thunders were always dumped (which obviously made them louder). My single chambers were installed and ran out the back after the cam install and were never dumped. They are still very loud but sound amazing.

I have a a 3in H pipe with single chambers all the way out the back. It is loud and it sounds awesome. Sounds like an 03 04 cobra

I've had both on my car which is Stock internal dumped TD's H pipe. Single chambers flowmasters have a much lower bass frequency tone to them that will set of car alarms and rattle the house much more than sweet thunders but... are the flowmaster 1 chambers actually louder?? not sure.. single chamber flowmasters seem louder inside the car but it may be an illusion because single chambers drone like crazy compared to sweet thunders. Sweet thunders will be great if you want to hold a conversation in the car. If you don't care about the flowmaster drone or are running them out the back (which lessens drone a lot) I'd go with 1 chambers.

I think they even out on the loudness.. Different RPMs one can be louder than the other.. At 2K the 1 chambers might be louder, 3500Rpms the Sweet Ts might be louder.

Too close to call.. The 1 chambers definitely sound better though.

Sweet thunders are bullets, and they are much louder than the dynomax bullets which like all bullets are much louder than any flowmasters. I actually used dynomax bullets to quiet down the sweet thunders because they were just too much.

Heres open headers,
http://www.streetfire.net/video/ls1-...9am_186941.htm

Heres a nice vid with just true dual 3" with just sweet thunders on, I dont think I got over 3k rpm in this vid as I was pulling away.

Just sweet thunders again

After I put the dynomax bullets in to quiet it down a bit.
