Question FAST intakes

What does everyone thing about upgrading to a FAST intake? Is it a good idea to upgrade from an ls6 intake? Is it ok to run on stock heads and cam? Thanks in advance!

A ported fast & TB will give you an additional 20 hp over the LS6, so if you dont mind ponying up the extra dough Id say its worth it on any car.

Its the best intake avaliable, it should beat the LS6 by 15hp or so. 100% worth it.

IMO I was disappointed with the gains with H/C set up I must of only gained about 8-10 hp and 8-10 TQ. But anything past 6000 rpms the Fast is still sucking alot of air and still pulling on the dyno graph. Depends on what you wanna do with your car. I would not reccomend a fast with stock heads.

I would recommend a Fast with say AFR or Trickflow heads with say a 228 Cam or higher. That way you use the full potential of the Intake. Just my experience. The Fast will out flow the LS6 though.

I believe the gains get bigger with larger camshaft and better heads.

That would be w/ any intake. More air more power.

I think if your running a cam that pulls to 7 grand then a fast would be worth it or if you race every weekend. But if you daily drive and race once a month is 1g worth 10 to 20 more hp that high in your power band?

How often will you run above 6000 RPM?

^ FAST discontinued the 92mm intake and is onlyt selling the 102 now. They make it for all LS engines. The only thing that sucks about the 102 is that you have to have LS2 style fuel rails and at least a 92mm T/B. So your looking at around 1200 bucks for the set up. $1200 for 10-20 hp??? Doesnt make sense to me.

i would just go get yourself a used 90/90 or 92/92 setup used for like 500-600 bucks in the parts section. people sell them all the time cause everyone with the money wants the 102mm intake!

From all i have read about them they are worth the money. but for a daily driver stock headed car i would look into getting a used 90 or 92..unles you have plans for future upgrades, in that case i would go with the 102/102..

For someone who has a ls6 intake they are not worth it on a stock heads stock cam car. Much better ways to spend the mod money.

+ 1 on what fatman80 wrote.

With a stock cubes, I think a 102 FAST is not the best choice.

If you have a stroker = more cubes, big heads and cam to match, they will make more power.

why is it not a good choice? it works great on a stock cube motor, and you stil have room to grow.

why waste money on a 90/90 when your just going to want to upgrade when it gets stroked or whatever else, and the intake becomes the restriction.

IMO, its the best intake because its well suited for stock engines as well as insane engines. you buy one intake and never have to buy another.
